Here’s what I have to show for my day off from work yesterday. I work at the Grapevine Consignment Market which is closed on Mondays. 

I bought this piece at a local thrift store about a month ago. It sat in my garage calling my name for attention every day that I had iff of work since. I finally decided yesterday was the day to tackle this job. 

an old phonograph cabinet, this piece was already repurposed on the inside by the previous owner. A shelf was added and stained to match as well a stained piece of wood covering the bottom of the whole cabinet That originally cradled the phonograph. Since this piece was water-stained on the top and scratched up from use over the years, I decided to paint it rather than refinish with stain.

Behr chalk paint in Timeless Blue and clear wax did the job. This job took approximately three hours to complete. Now the question...to keep or to sell in my booth at the Grapevine Antique Mall? 

UPDATE: I took it to the mall today. $195, labeled as a bar cabinet.
