On May 17, 18 and 19, Grapevine celebrated its 29th Annual Main Street Days in the heart of its historic downtown.

“Main Street Days was the perfect time for visitors and locals to come out and enjoy Grapevine’s Historic Main Street,” said festival chairs Matt and Jenny Singleton. “The new additions to this year’s festival, including Main Street Brews and the enhanced KidCave, along with traditional Main Street Days activities, made this year’s event a tremendous success.”

Guests enjoyed pizza along the Pizza Piazza, craft beer at the all new Main Street Brews Craft Beer Tasting, the KidCave, the Grillin’ Competition and live entertainment on five stages throughout the festival.

Guests also participated in a text to win campaign for the People’s Pizza Pick along the Pizza Piazza. Pizza selections were available from Grapevine area restaurants. In addition, several awards were also presented by festival officials. This year’s winners are:

People’s Pizza Pick:

  • Gold: Palio’s Pizza Café
  • Silver: Farina’s Winery & Café
  • Bronze: Boston’s The Gourmet Pizza

Masters of the grill also competed at the Grillin’ Competition. Sessions were held throughout the weekend and winners of each session participated in the Championship Session on Sunday. The winner of the Championship Session was the team from Tommy Tamale, a local Grapevine business. The team, which consisted of Tommy Tamale owner Steve Barker of Decatur, TX and David Wood, Grapevine resident and owner of Grapevine’s Market on Main, won a 32” Odeon Grill with Stainless Steel Cabinets, valued at $2,199.  Second place was awarded to Richard Grimmett of Arlington, TX and third place was awarded to James Hill of Royse City, TX.

Children of all ages also had a wonderful time at Main Street Days. Young guests experienced the enhanced KidCave. Walking through an 30’ inflatable shark entry and greeted by 22’ inflatable LEGO characters, children enjoyed the LEGOLAND Discovery Center’s Junior Builder Competition, a LEGO brick build area, a SEA LIFE Grapevine Aquarium Touch Pool, the DairyMax Dairy Educational experience and the KidCave stage, featuring interactive entertainment. The festival also marked the return of the Roma’s Pizza Toss Academy, where kids ages 5 – 10 learned to toss dough like a pizza pro.

Throughout the festival, guests danced the night away with music on five stages featuring a variety of musical acts from across the country. Guests were also treated to musical performances within the all new Main Street Brews Craft Beer Tasting.
