Gold Wings will quietly glide into Grapevine in late August
Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) returns to Grapevine for the international 39th Annual Wing Ding, August 29-September 2, 2017. “Wing Ding” is the largest single-marque motorcycle gathering of its kind. Held annually, this event is the only major American motorcycle event to change locations each year. Riders will converge from all over the country and abroad to enjoy the riding, attractions, scenic offerings and especially the food and hospitality of Grapevine and its surrounding areas. Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center is the 2017 headquarters hotel. Wing Ding was last held in Grapevine in July 2004.
The public is invited to enjoy several free events:
Wednesday, August 30, 8:30 p.m. – Wing Ding Light Parade; Historic Downtown Grapevine on Main Street. Bikes of all kinds will amaze you with lights and decorations like you have never seen. Staging & classification is 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the Cotton Belt Depot/Grapevine Heritage Center on the corner of Main and E. Hudgins Streets.
Saturday, September 2, 8:30 a.m. – Grand Parade; Approximately 500 Gold Wings, led by flags from each state and country represented, will make their way from northwest Grapevine through Historic Downtown enroute to Grapevine Mills. The parade route will be posted on www.GrapevineTexasUSA.com when available.
Saturday, September 2, 9 – 11 a.m., Gold Wing People’s Choice Bike Show – Grapevine Mills, 3000 Grapevine Mills Parkway, parking lot area 1B & 1C, southeast corner across from Steak ‘n Shake. Stop by and vote for your favorite bike in each of five categories - Bike, Trike, Bike with Trailer, Trike with Trailer, and Vintage.
Saturday, September 2, 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m (noon), Gold Wing Drill Team Performances – Precision riding will amaze and entertain you. Grapevine Mills parking lot area 1B & 1C, southeast corner across from Steak ‘n Shake.
