Old William D. Tate Avenue Bridge Tear Down Starts Wednesday

Construction crews will start tearing down the old William D. Tate Avenue Bridge over Texas 114 on Wednesday, according to an article by the Colleyville Courier.

Work will begin around 8 p.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday and stop at 6 a.m. each morning and start again at 8 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. Monday morning.

The eastern side of the bridge will stay open, but southbound traffic will only have one lane.

Drivers on Texas 114 will not need to exit the freeway, but will instead follow a detour onto the frontage roads. Traffic going westbound on 114 will take the Texan Trail exit and eastbound traffic will exit at the Tate Avenue off-ramp.

The construction is part of a $1.02 billion DFW Connector project.
