The middle of Main Street was jam-packed with Grapevine residents and guests on Monday night. The crowd roared and cheered as they eagerly counted down the seconds until Mayor William D. Tate flipped the switch.

“5…4…3…2…1!”

With that, Mayor Tate flipped the lever and illuminated the 47-foot Christmas tree and all of Historic Downtown Grapevine.

Grapevine’s “Carol of Lights” ceremony kicked off Monday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. on Main Street.

Mrs. Claus welcomed everyone and introduced Mayor Tate, who led the massive crowd in the spirited countdown.

Attendees enjoyed live music, Christmas carols from the Grapevine Elementary School Choir and free kettle corn and hot cocoa.
