It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Grapevine – and not just because of the holly and tinsel decorations.

More than 30 Santas from across Texas met in Grapevine on Saturday, Nov. 3 for one final get together before the start of the Christmas season.

Dressed in “Santa casual,” the Santas, Mrs. Claus and the elves enjoyed watching the Would-Be Train Robbers, Nat Barrett and Willy Majors, on top of the Grapevine Glockenspiel and continued their excursion to the Grapevine Vintage Railroad.

Children and parents were delighted to meet the horde of right jolly old elves while guessing which one was the real St. Nick.

The Santas are part of the Lone Star Santa Charities, an organization known for bringing toys and gifts to children and families impacted by disasters across the Midwestern United States.

The Lone Star Santas brought toys to families in Joplin, Mo. after the devastating tornadoes and provided toys for families in Bastrop, Texas after the wildfires.

“It’s a bit of a fraternal organization, but we also gather together for everything from fellowship to planning for disasters,” said Kevin Haislip, a member of the Lone Star Santas. “Whenever there is a disaster where families have been devastated, we try to show up.”
