Luckily, the Dallas Fort Worth area is home to dozens of beautiful locations, so you won't have too much trouble selecting a fitting backdrop. Here are a few of the prettiest places you can check out with your photographer in tow. 

Prairie Creek Park - Richardson 

If you've dreamed of taking your pictures in front of a beautiful waterfall, then you're in luck: Prairie Creek provides convenient access to a tumbling fall, plus plenty of bridges and trails that provide picture-perfect scenery. Although it might seem like a small neighborhood park, there are dozens of unique photo opportunities and the crowds are low, so you'll be able to craft the perfect shoot for your taste. 

Celestial Park - Addison  

Spacious and secluded, this park is a local favorite for people who like to spend a little time in the fresh air. There are poetry staircases, big clusters of trees, and well-maintained trails to visit. Friends and family will think you had your photos taken somewhere out in the country, but really you just took a small trip to this sacred haven that's tucked into a lovely neighborhood. 

Adriatica Village - McKinney

Every time you visit Adriatica, you'll probably glimpse at least one engagement photo shoot taking place. That's because this location is simply too photogenic to pass up. With old-world aesthetics and beautiful stone buildings, including a quaint chapel, this unique community looks like it comes from another country and time. Plus, there's a lake that provides a dramatic backdrop suited for engagement photos. 

South Fork Ranch - Parker 

If you're looking to really embrace the heart and soul of North Texas, why not take your engagement pictures on the famous lawn of the Ewing Mansion? Complete with old oak trees, wide open spaces, and plenty of charm, this location is a fantastic choice for DFW couples. You'll feel like your photos come straight from the lovable Dallas television show set. 

Sandy Lake Amusement Park - Carrollton 

Want your photos to stand out? Go with a quirky, fun location like this amusement park. After all, who says engagement photos have to be completely serious? Take yours in front of the park's cute train or family-friendly rides. You'll enjoy the experience so much that smiling for photo after photo will be a breeze. 

Mandalay Canal Walk - Las Colinas 

If you can't find the time or funds to fly to the Venice Canals in Los Angeles, then these canals can serve as a runner-up. Follow the walkway and check out the various photo opportunities. You'll be surprised by the peaceful atmosphere, and people will probably ask where you went to shoot such impressive photos. 

White Rock Lake - Dallas 

You can never go wrong with a water-front photo shoot, and White Rock Lake is a wonderful choice in the Dallas Park system. Snap some pictures on the tree-covered trails, then head to the shore for some gorgeous photos by the glistening lake. There will probably be plenty of other Dallasites visiting while you're there, but the area is spacious enough to find your own photo spots.  

Historic Downtown McKinney Square 

If you're searching for something a little charming and old-fashioned, look no further: Downtown McKinney is an opportune location for unique engagement photos, and you'll have fun checking out the quaint shops and restaurants in the area. Old iron staircases and brick alleyways will allow you to get a bit inventive with your photos, so don't hold back. 

Bishop Arts District - Dallas 

If you love diverse art and a chic atmosphere, the Bishop Arts District in Oak Cliff might be the place to check out. Snap your photos in front of one-of-a-kind eateries and art galleries, then grab a coffee at one of the local shops. Some of the business owners might even let you use their store or restaurant in your photos, so don't be afraid to ask if one catches your eye. 

Fort Worth Stockyards

Even if you don't consider yourself much of a cowboy or cowgirl, nothing embraces the feel of Texas more than this famous Fort Worth locale. The brick walkways and Western decor make for an interesting background, and you might even learn a little bit about Lone Star history while you're there. Remember to wear your cowboy boots for at least a few pictures!
