As the most familiar voice in Texas horticulture, garden expert Neil Sperry needs no introduction to gardeners in this region. Whether you're a novice gardener or a skilled Master Gardener, Neil will help guide you through your gardening challenges with his program Texas Home Landscaping - Planning and Plants.

Join us on November 26 at 10 a.m. at the Palace Theatre (300 S. Main St. in Grapevine) as Neil shares photos of his own garden along with other notable gardens he has visited. The event is sponsored by the Grapevine Garden Club with proceeds benefiting the Grapevine Botanical Gardens Greenhouse Project. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at Marshall Grain (Grapevine) and Calloway’s (Hurst and Southlake) or by email at tickets@grapevinegardenclub.com.

The Grapevine Garden Club, Inc. is seeking funds to build a greenhouse at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park, 411 Ball Street, Grapevine, Texas.  The total cost of the building will be approximately $150,000. The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department will build the required infrastructure for the greenhouse and will maintain the building once it is built.

We believe that a greenhouse will provide opportunities to expand the gardens’ educational classes and provide a laboratory for hands-on lessons in plant propagation, floriculture, transplanting, and soil preparation.

The Grapevine Garden Club and Grapevine Parks & Recreation Department are committed to educating and inspiring the community about plants, wildlife and our natural resources. The greenhouse will provide opportunities to expand educational and volunteer programs and to propagate plants for the gardens and special events.

Neil Sperry Event Chair Beckie Underwood said, “Neil’s knowledge and experience have made him our region’s most trusted source of help and we’re thrilled to be able to bring his expertise to area gardeners. It’s an added plus that we’ll be raising funds for the greenhouse at the same time.

Garden Club President Pam Braak said, “The Grapevine Garden Club is thrilled and honored to have such an esteemed member of the horticulture world come speak to us in downtown Grapevine. This will certainly put our Greenhouse Project fundraising on the map.”
