Grapevine High School Quarterback, Evan Baum, competed in the 2022 QB State Championship Competition, in Weatherford on July 16th. This  invite only, elite level QB competition featured some of the Top QB's in the state of Texas. Weston Smith, from Colleyville Heritage and Keller's Tre Guerra were among the QBs competing for the title. In typical Texas High School Football fashion, the competition came down to a sudden death determination between rivals Grapevine and Colleyville, with Grapevine QB Evan Baum winning the title of State Champ for the class of 2023.

The competition, hosted by RRQB Training (https://www.rrqbtraining.com/) consisted of various drills testing the quarterbacks in many different areas from accuracy, quick release, arm strength, etc., and each drill was scored on a pre-determined point system.
