Grapevine to Host Southwest Premiere of The Little Tin Man July 19 at the Palace Theatre

Grapevine’s Palace Theatre will host the Southwest premiere of The Little Tin Man on Friday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m. The film is the story of a struggling actor’s fight to be accepted and obtain a role in Martin Scorsese’s (fictional) remake of The Wizard of Oz.

Herman Miller (Aaron Beelner), an unhappy restaurant worker, decides that he is ready to make some changes in his life. When the opportunity to audition for the role of the Mayor of Munchkinland in Martin Scorsese’s big budget (fictional) remake comes along, Herman, along with the help of friends Miller (Kay Cannon) and his brother Gregg (Jeff Hiller) and their mutual friend Juan (Emmanuel Maldonado), sets out on a hilarious adventure full of self-discovery. This independent film is directed by Matthew Perkins in his feature-film directorial debut.

Fans will love The Little Tin Man’s often hilarious, yet touching story. Film buffs will also want to attend the question and answer session immediately following the screening. Scheduled to attend are the film’s star Aaron Beelner; producer and co-writer, Dugan Bridges and director and co-writer Matthew Perkins. The attending cast and crew are also available for media interviews.

This screening will benefit the Little People of America, Inc., (www.lpaonline.org), a national non-profit organization that provides support and information to people of short stature and their families. The screening is sponsored in part by the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau and The Gatts Group. The movie is recommended for guests 13 and over. The Palace Theatre is located at 300 S. Main St. in Grapevine and tickets are $8.50 per person.
