A group of Mary Kay consultants from Keller and the surrounding areas are trying to spread a little holiday cheer by delivering gift sets to local nursing home residents.

They call it Adopt A Grandparent and the way it works is the consultants sell the gift sets at a reduced price to local businesses and the general public.

Once the gift has been purchased, the consultants will wrap the baskets and deliver them to local nursing home residents.

Each gift set consists of two full-sized products, a Holiday hand cream and lip balm, together with socks and assorted Christmas goodies. The gift sets cost $25 each and will be wrapped and hand delivered by the Mary Kay consultants to the nursing home residents.

In the first three years, Adopt A Grandparent has delivered over 600 gift sets to residents of area nursing homes with a goal of 2,000 for this year.

According to Kathy Fullerton, a Mary Kay consultant, they make less than 85 cents on each set and they will only go to a nursing home if they know they can supply every resident with a gift set.

If you would like to participate in Adopt A Grandparent contact Kathy Fullerton - kathyfullerton@marykay.com or 817-600-7380.  The drive ends on Dec 19th with the gifts being delivered on Dec 23rd and 24th.
