Virgin America Shows Dallas Some Love

Over the last few months, Virgin America has shown a lot of Love in Dallas, particularly at Dallas Love Field. And, beginning April 28, the airline will be opening yet another route from the Big D — this time to Austin. Flyers can select one of five daily nonstop flights. The airline also offers convenient connecting service available via Love Field to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA).

It was in the fall of last year that Virgin America moved from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to Dallas Love Field, launching four new daily, nonstop flights from its new hub. With the addition of the new DAL-AUS flights, the airline will offer 19 daily departures from Love Field.

“Love Field, with its modern, updated facilities and convenient location to downtown Dallas, provided an excellent opportunity for Virgin America to offer its upscale product to professionals and business travelers in the area,” says Virgin America spokesperson Christie O'Toole. “We continue to be pleased by the response from local flyers who value the uniquely consistent travel experience Virgin America offers including First Class, WiFi and power outlets on every flight from Love Field. We look forward to welcoming guests on board our new Dallas Love Field service to Austin later this month.”

Last month, the airline launched a digital campaign for Dallas flyers, encouraging them to raise their expectations by expecting both the lowest possible fares and an upscale and tech-forward travel experience. In the campaign, the airline took a “cheeky poke” at the competition with a video of Virgin Group Founder Sir Richard Branson showing Dallas travelers why they should expect more for less. By sharing that cheeky message with friends, Dallas flyers can now earn triple Elevate points on their next flight. O’Toole says in a press release that indeed, the airline continues to guarantee the lowest fares from Dallas Love Field through the “Love Match” campaign. If a traveler finds a cheaper flight on a comparable nonstop Love Field route, Virgin America will match it.

The airline is also the only carrier at Love Field to offer three classes of service in the markets it serves, with a First Class cabin and a Main Cabin Select premium economy service.

It was on October 13, 2014 that Virgin America officially marked its last flight from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and the first flight into its new home at Dallas Love Field.

Overall, the airline offers a fleet of beautifully designed new aircraft, fleetwide WiFi, power outlets at every seat, a full-service on-demand food and cocktail menu, confirmed seating, and personal touch-screen seatback entertainment. Love Field Virgin America travelers also get a check-in lounge that mirrors the sleek look and feel of the carrier’s aircraft cabins and is the only dedicated VIP check-in area of its kind at Love Field.

Virgin America has served the Austin market since 2013, with nonstop flights from San Francisco before the upcoming new flights being offered from Dallas.
