The Grapevine Colleyville Education Foundation’s annual fundraising drive is underway. The 501(c)3 non-profit was founded in 1998 to raise funds and give back to GCISD teachers and students as well as to serve as ambassadors for the teachers and students. All money raised stays in GCISD.
GCISD employee giving begins September 14th and runs through October 8th. Last year employees of the District contributed $38,500 to the Foundation. The community fundraising effort was announced September 4th at the Grapevine High School vs. Colleyville Heritage High School football game at Mustang-Panther Stadium.
“Donations can be designated for the general fund for allocation of grants, campus endowment funds, scholarship endowments, event participation and/or sponsorship or any other program or department the donor might desire,” said Janice Kane, GCEF Executive Director.
Grapevine Colleyville Education Foundation has helped establish the GCISD STEM program and has helped with other classroom needs. The Foundation provides funding for innovative, creative ideas and learning. Donations help provide college readiness programs, professional learning, engineering programs as well as character education and anti-bullying efforts.
Since 1998, GCEF has raised over $5.75 million, having funded over 1,650 projects totaling in excess of $2.5 million. The Foundation maintains an endowment fund of over $1.2 million for perpetual funding. All grants support GCISD’s LEAD 2021 strategic plan.
