Grapevine resident John N. Anderson died at the Grand Canyon National Park on Saturday. Authorities believe the 53-year-old man fell about 350 feet off the canyon's edge to fetch an unknown object, possibly a hat.

Witnesses reported seeing Anderson near the canyon's barrier, but did not see him fall. However, Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center picked up reports of a man falling around 8 a.m. on Saturday.

The medical examiner is continuing the investigation, but believes there is no evidence of foul play.
