Vetro Glassblowing Studio and Gallery, located in historic downtown Grapevine, is “heating up” the holiday season with its help-create-your-own handblown glass ornament events on select dates beginning November 21 through December 31. These unique, one-of-a-kind holiday ornaments are an ideal keepsake or gift, and a fun experience for the entire family.

Back by popular demand, the Extreme Ornament Blowout allows participants to experience firsthand the ancient art of glass-blowing. Each participant may select colors from the entire color palette of glass and apply the colors to the hot molten glass gather. Then the individual reheats the glass color in the 2,000 degree furnace (14 years old or above); he/she stays by the artist and watches as their ornament is blown out and a glass hook is attached. Due to the annealing process, ornaments will be available for pick-up the next business day after 3:00pm. The cost is $50 plus tax for each hand-blown glass ornament (under 18 must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian). Reservations are required for the Extreme Ornament Blowout and must be made in advance online.

Vetro is also offering its Traditional Help-Create Ornament Event, which has become a favorite holiday activity for many families. Each participant selects colors from four pre-selected mixes and applies the colors to the hot molten glass gather. Then watch the artists finish creating your ornament before your very eyes, while the colors are heated in the 2,000 degree furnace and then blown-out and a glass hook attached. Due to the annealing process, ornaments will be available for pick-up the next business day after 3:00pm. The cost is $30 plus tax for each hand-blown glass ornament. Reservations are not required (or taken) and participation is available on a first come, first serve basis (under 18 must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian). Traditional dates include:
