“The mood of a fiery sunset casting its glow across a frozen landscape was the perfect subject to be captured with watercolor.  The white paper allows for a subtle flow of color that reveals a soft cold atmosphere around the frozen stream as the contrasting texture of branches and trees grab the glow as the sun sets.”

“Dog and Pony Show”

“‘Dog and Pony Show’ is an intuitive piece that was painted simultaneously with ‘St. George and the Dragon’ and ‘The Aftermath’. The initial move was an experiment, applying large stripes of color with a squeegee. Looking at the result, I imagined the animal forms and filled in the race track background around them. Now it tells the story of a race horse and her best friend the stable dog.”

“Evening Looking East”

“Exiting our down town Post Office one evening, I saw the glorious colors of the setting sun reflected in the several glass buildings. I immediately set about to express that time of day with one typical building, tall and stately wearing its gleaming apparel.”

Artist Naomi Brotherton, 101 years old, can no longer create paintings due to Macular Degeneration causing loss of sight. Because of this, she has decided to retire from Giddens Gallery of Fine Art in Grapevine.  Naomi is a national acclaimed artist and 7 year resident artist at Giddens Gallery of Fine Art in Grapevine.  Giddens Gallery has been granted the privilege of offering her remaining works to collectors, designers and Fine Art enthusiast at 50% reduction in regular prices.  Beautiful is her work and if you purchase art as an investment, her work is a good one.  If you have already been to the Gallery, we discovered additional 45 paintings that had been forgotten in a climate-controlled storage facility.  Those too, are now available in the Gallery.
