Being a parent in today’s world is tough! Youth and children do not come with a manual, and parents don’t have divine foreknowledge to be aware of every situation their child will face. It is important that parents prepare themselves to help their children through tough situations. We hear stories every day about children who face bullying. Some are prepared to endure it; others falter under the pressure.

On Wednesday, May 13, from 6:00-7:30 PM, First Methodist Church in Grapevine will host a free seminar for parents to help deal with issues related to friendships and acceptance. Dena Kohleriter, LCSW/Family Therapist from the Momentous Institute, will lead us in "Faith, Friendships and Belonging:  Dealing with acceptance, rejection and bullying." This seminar is for parents of youth, pre-teens and children.

First Methodist Grapevine, located at 422 Church Street in Grapevine, welcomes all in the community to join us for this learning opportunity. The seminar will be held in Leach Hall, and light refreshments will be provided. To help us in preparing materials, please RSVP online at www.firstmethodistgrapevine.org/parenting or by contacting Linda McClure in the church office (lindam@fumcg.org or 817-481-2559 x126). Childcare will be provided; please indicate your need for childcare on your RSVP. For questions about childcare, contact Nursery Director Monica Vickery (monicav@fumcg.org or 817-481-2559 x145).
