Grapevine High School Theatre Department set the bar high with its 2013 musical Chicago! seen by thousands of people from across the Metroplex. As the reviews came in, it was clear this was no ordinary high school theatre group; the skills of the cast, crew, orchestra, and directors made this a performance to remember. The production was honored at the Betty Lynn Buckley awards in May 2013, winning Best Musical, Best Female Actor, Best Ensemble, Best Orchestra, Excellence in costume and Excellence in lighting.

This Tony-awarding-winning musical first opened on Broadway in 1964, and became the longest running musical for its time. Hello, Dolly! is the story of a turn-of-the-century widowed matchmaker named Dolly Gallagher Levi, who, after cunningly negotiating marriages for others through a series of comic, romantic entanglements, ultimately finds her own match.

Adapted from Thorton Wilder's,The Matchmaker, Hello Dolly! was produced on Broadway by David Merrick, with musical score by Jerry Herman who also composed the scores of the musicals Mame and La Cage Aux Folles. The book for ...Dolly! was written by Michael Stewart, who also wrote the books for the musical Bye, Bye Birdie, and 42nd Street.
