With the threat of damaging winds and large hail on Friday, Grapevine residents should pay close attention to the weather throughout the day.
Severe storms, producing hail to the size of half dollars, are possible in the afternoon and early evening. It's always important to be prepared for any upcoming weather threat.
Here are some tips about what to do when dangerous weather approaches:
  • Have a lightning safety plan. Know where you'll go for safety and how much time it will take to get there.
  • Postpone activities.
  • Monitor the weather
  • Get to a safe place if you hear thunder. Fully enclosed buildings with wiring and plumbing provide the best protection.
  • If you hear thunder, don't use a corded phone.
